I’ve never had an art lesson. It has taken me most of my life to get to the artistic level that I am now.  I prefer pen and ink sketching because I have a difficult time with some colors and I do enjoy expressing myself with my own technique.  I’ve never displayed my work before the year of 2004.  It was in part for the encouragement of local renowned artists of the Washington Gallery that I recently came out of my shell. I have displayed my portrait work in the Artists’ Gallery in Washington , Utah and my artwork of Zion National Park at Flanigan’s Inn and Resort in Springdale , Utah . Recently winning third place in the “People’s Choice” Drawing Exhibition at the Mesquite Fine Arts Center in Mesquite , Nevada was such an honor   .

I was born and raised on a farm in southeastern Idaho and have 4 children there. I make my home where my heart is…La Verkin, near the city of St. George in southern Utah.  People inspire me to sketch.  It is the people around me--as I see them and experience them--that capture me the most.  I like to draw people or places that convey and reflect the emotions that I feel.
